Home sweet first home

It's pathetic, but this is the only picture we have of our house in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake and it was taken 7 months after we moved in. We moved in January 5th year of our Lord 2007, and it was cold and snowy, not green and nice like in this picture. We didn't get this whole place to ourselves, but we had a nice little nook in the basement, it was splendid, and our upper floor housemates were great. We lived below the Boren family and they took good care of us.
While we lived there Derek finished up his last semester at BYU and worked in a very important position at Senske Lawn Life. Talane put Derek through school with her job at the U of U in the hand therapy clinic. This was a great area and perfect for biking, hiking, and enjoying the beautiful Utah weather, stuff we both love. We lived really close to emigration market, foothill village, and sugarhouse park. A few times we even rode our bikes to sugarhouse park and made our world famous chicken "shashliki"!!! Life on Harrison Ave. was real smooth.
