Rocked by Hurricane Ike

The hurricane came through and hit Houston harder than we thought it was going to. Luckily out tiny little house didn't have any damage, but there was some major damage around the rest of town. Tons of windows blown out, flooding, trees down, signs down, and more. The worst part for us was our power was out for a long time. All of our neighbors got power at least 3 or 4 days before we did for some reason. It was such a pain. Luckily Tosha had power so I stayed over there a lot while Derek was at work and we ate there quite a bit too. Not having a working fridge was such a pain.
It made for some fun candlelit nights together though. There was a curfew put out for 9 o'clock so when Derek wasn't working at night we would go home from Tosha's and light candles and play games - Yahtzee, boggle, and chess. We actually had a really good time.
