We finished painting our living room on Thursday and it looks way good. We did all of it "univeral khaki" except one accent wall. It makes the hugest difference. Tim (our landlord) loves having us as tenants. Then...last night we of course went to the auction and lucked out because no one was bidding. The last few we've been to have had really high bids that we of course couldn't afford, but last night there was a lot of painted furniture (our favorite) and it went for sooooooooo cheap. We got a kitchen hutch, a dresser, and an apothecary dresser for the baby stuff. We are selling our wardrobe armoire thingy and other dresser because they both take up too much space but aren't functional enough. But for now we have to put the cute red dresser we got last night in our living room until someone comes to pick up our old dresser. Our apartment of course is really crowded yet again, but we've got to buy up the cheap stuff while we can. At the family's request I have posted pictures of the room and furniture. Enjoy.

So awesome!! I love the kitchen hutch and the baby dresser. So so cute. I wish I was there to go to the auctions with you. Boo. We have nothing like that here. And, your new walls look so great and clean. I love it!
Ok Talane, I'm going to an auction with you. PLEASSEEEE!!! I need cute furniture like that and I need it now!!
The plants are looking good. Thanks for taking some time and water for them. I miss you guys. Tosh
Love the new color on your blog. good change.
So Talane, how's this for random? This is Nicole McQuain (now Terry). I found your blog through Jamie Burger's and have been scrolling through your posts. Congrats on the baby girl!
Also, I love your furniture and paint, and Austin is, in fact, much better than Houston. We lived in Harker Heights (1 hour north of Austin) for 2 years but went to Austin all the time. Cool city.
Anyway, hi!
Oh my heck! How are you guys?? We'll have to meet up sometime. We make it down to houston every now and then, but this would give us a good excuse to come down. My e-mail address is brad.chf@gmail.com. Shoot me an e-mail and we can work out the details.
Oooo...Talane I am jealous. I wish I could go scouting around for fun finds like that more. Love it. I think I like the red piece the best. Fun. The pea green kitchen is fun too. Funny b/c my house colors aren't that at all, but it's very happy looking. Hope you're feeling well!
wow - i am totally diggin your furniture! especially the red dresser. I bought a huge armoir at an estate sale - it was one of my best purchases ever. I think i would like to come to an auction with you for sure.
Hey Talane. Yeah, I stressed over the perfect car seat for a while, but I guess I just needed someone to tell me that they were all made to do their job. So, we actually just ended up getting the cheapest one at Target: an Evenflo brand carseat. It works great and does the trick. It all came down to price and realizing that we didn't want to spend a ton of $ on something he would outgrow in just a few months. There are some fancy carseats out there though that are made to hold baby longer (more lbs), Good luck. Just know that all car seats have to pass safety tests and then decide what other factors matter most to you: price, appearance, weight limits, etc. Good luck and let me know what you choose. By the way, I am in love with your rocking chair and your green kitchen. I have a crush on GREEN.
D rock! I need your address. Call me or email it to me. Also, T Lane, where is a new post?
I'm with Dan...what's going on in your life now?!
